Now Brought To You By Dramamine!

Apparently, the foamer slideshow at the Oly Club -- which last year I spent most of practising pool next door -- wasn't such a great hit with a friend of mine, who posted the following to Obscar:
"However, last weekend reinforced the concept that a lot of the appeal of attending Winterail (or Summerail) is a certain standard of entertainment and presentation. Just as there is a big difference between being a snap shooter and a photographer, there is a big difference between a show thrown together on a computer, and what you see at the big gatherings. Technology does not make up for a lack of artistic ability or technical quality.

The "Dramamine" show was a good case in point. The dissolves used stars, swoops, and other "creative" cuts. Also, the show zoomed into some of the images, and then moved them off the screen as part of the dissolve. It was literally painful to watch. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.

At least, we had the steady parade of young hotties going in and out of the bar next door to relieve the tedium..."

Ouch. I don't mean to sound evil, but I'm glad he didn't enjoy himself there.
