Maybe I have a solution.

Maybe what we need is not a site, or a forum, or a list.

What we need is a gang... a mafia. No, seriously, think about it.

Mafias are a kind of family, but not necessarily related by blood. They help each other out and perform favors. They back each other up. They settle disputes. They also operate behind the scenes.

Who needs to start another site, when there are a bagillion already around? Use those that already exist. Use the resources already available. Don't start a new structure. Bend the old back on itself.

All we really need is to decide who and what we are. A subtle way to distinguish ourselves online would be cool too. The more obscure, the better; why do we care anyone else to know who we are and why?
