Brakie: it just really sucks
Brakie: seems like all the things
Brakie: all the good things
Brakie: that used to be on the net are gone
Laz: real the big thing to come out of rrf is that
Laz: like Stein and the likes of Benson
Laz: that there is now a group off pic shooters that
Laz: have and contenu to help eacher other to get better
Laz: they will in the long run may a big afect on train pics
Laz: in the long view
Brakie: hah, mebbe
Laz: no not mebbie
Laz: look just at this way
Laz: the mil may bee gone but railroads are still here
Laz: how old are you and B
Brakie: i'm 27 next month, he is 23 now i think
Laz: well most do not start shooting thill they are in there 40's
Laz: so over the long run you will prodocing a body of work
Laz: do you get what i tell you
Brakie: that you have far too much faith in us punks
Laz: not just in you two
Laz: but in us all of us
Laz: this a brotherhood
Laz: not of blood or arms
Laz: but in art
Laz: think about this
Laz: i had faith in the two of you from the start of seeing your writing and pics
Laz: wjen you both where saying that you want to work for a train mag i said you could do it
Laz: look at pauly and gradland and the rest of that buch
Brakie: the washedupcar?
Laz: ya
Laz: the core group
Laz: they may be at each other necks
Laz: but
Laz: the core is a botherhood
Laz: made in the time of the brady buch gone bad
Laz: they are a botherhood
Laz: do you get what i am saying
Brakie: mmhmm
Laz: rrf is like camlot
Laz: it was cool whill it happen
Laz: but not till after the fact that it gone will saying camlot (rrf) oh the dream lost
Laz: the real quition should be
Laz: how can we have a small pay it forward group on the net
Laz: that owns itself not owned be someone
Brakie: something like genius' idea that he never actually did, cause he was a dick?
Laz: ya
Brakie: we've never done anything formal like that
Brakie: but slacky has stuf i sent him free
Brakie: and i have stuff B sent me free
Laz: in some way some of the other botherhoods that came out of rrf did this
Laz: as in the chat
Brakie: i think you still have the filter i sent you
Laz: ya i have it
Brakie: but we've never formalized that
Laz: just like the darkroom stuff that G was going to send you
Laz: but it not realy about stuff
Laz: adams and watson and others
Brakie: adams and watson?
Laz: ansel adams along with weston and others set out metor eachother
Laz: it was a informal pic club
Brakie: was watson part of that f/64 group?
Laz: ya that it
9:45 PM
Laz: http://kcbx.net/~mhd/1intro/f64.htm
Brakie: mmhmm
Brakie: one downside of groups like that is they burn out too
Laz: ya that what happened to rrf
Laz: look i am not saying i have all the ansews
Laz: i just trying to help you look at what we do have and manybee how we could make it better
Brakie: i know this sort of thing has been on your mind for a while
Laz: well it part of how do i become a better shooter
Laz: it maybee that insted of a site we just need to do like the others from the chat did and make ourown chat room
Laz: i don't know
Brakie: yeah
Brakie: dunno
Brakie: but maybe we should talk about this more for a while
Brakie: i think
Brakie: before we started anything else
Brakie: we'd really want to have a good handle on what other groups did and why they didnt work
Brakie: and, well, not do what they did
Laz: oh ya
Brakie: i kinda like how f/64 did group shows
Brakie: would be hard to do for us scattered everywhere of course
Laz: would it realy be that hard on the net
Brakie: yes and no. in theory no
Brakie: its the human element that usually breaks down first, not the technical one
Laz: ya
Laz: but i realy talking about the brotherhood not a list group
Brakie: yeah but aren't you talking about trying to formalize it a bit more
Brakie: cause right now, i could say we already are somewhat like what you talk about
Laz: not realy
Brakie: we already share crap and help each other out when we can
Laz: more like meet at this corner every once in a while
Laz: ya but we talk to eachother in 2's
Brakie: PA chats
Laz: ya kind of
Brakie: those usually got a bit... off topc :-P
Laz: i just putting things out there
Laz: the p-a chats mostly went off do to G.
Laz: not that some were not fun
Brakie: well
Brakie: some of us (looks in mirror, looks towards ohio) had a habit of being a smartass and talking about pie
Laz: i just thinking do we need a site or list to get the old core group back toghter
Laz: or just a catroom that we own
Brakie: what i miss from PA and RRF both is that feeling of community. I don't think starting another forum would capture that, but at the same time i'm kinda grasping at ideas like you, to figure out some way to get that feeling without the stress of RRF type politics
Laz: ya and thats what i miss too
Brakie: i just want my co-conspirators back! :-p
Laz: lol
Brakie: but seriously yeah
Brakie: caue thats what it felt like
Brakie: when we'd sit around and joke about who'd do what
Laz: and realy a lot of that happen in the chatroom
Brakie: yup
Brakie: being at PA or at RRF really only served as a secondary outlet
Brakie: but it did give a kind of "banner" to gather under
Laz: ya and that what i saying
Laz: it was how we meet
Laz: and got toghter
