Do you know how much pain can be caused by a friend who steals himself from your heart? To feel as if someone who once was one of the closest persons to you only had used you for a crutch, and then moved on to a better one? That a friend could pursue decisions and not give a damn about the consequences, even to you, who once would have done nearly anything to see them not hurt? To be bought off by them with sentimental papers and short-term kindnesses?
And the biggest anger of all is to be angry at them, for making you feel angry at them.
To see him now only causes pain. Memory of what was, and what may never truly have been, and pain.
It's enough to make you wonder if you can see straight, or ever could. And enough to make you cling to those who have been there all along, silent at times, loud at times, but always there and always true to themselves, no matter their faults.
"We are the champions my friends / and we'll keep on fighting to the end..."
It's a dark world, and I'm a bit wiser now. Never live your life for someone else. Never expect anything back for your kindness. Don't make promises you can't keep. Don't pursue your dreams on the backs of others. Be true to yourself, first and above all. And when another offers their light to help you, surrender to it -- but don't depend on it, and don't cry if it doesn't last, because all things pass. If they didn't, why would the present ever be precious?

Keep your enemies close and your friends closer. Don't be afraid to make new friends; you never know what joy you'll find hiding in the strangest places. Above all use this as a stepping stone in the journey of life and know that you're wiser now for it.
